Wood - Engraving & Phrase of Endearment
Maple wood offers the best wood for engraving. The evenly spaced smooth regular grain and the naturally light color of the wood show the best contrast. Cherry wood is a close second. Cherry is often a naturally light colored wood but it will darken over time for warm deep feel. Large text such as Name and Dates can be easily engraved in most oak. However, the dark irregular grain which gives oak its character also prevent engraving detailed images. Photographic images will need to be hand touched by an artist prior to engraving. The best results come from as detailed an image as possible (or as large a file as possible).
Engraving your wood cremation urn will require and additional 2-3 days prior to shipping. The standard price for NAME, DOB & DOD includes up to 50 characters. The standard price for Phrase of Endearment, NAME, DOB & DOD includes up to 75 characters. Of course, on cremation urns with a smooth surface much longer epitaphs can been engraved. For details including pricing on longer phrases of endearment, eulogies, poems, songs, verses, languages other than English, and characters other than the English alphabet please contact us.
We offer block and script engraved font styles. Unless otherwise specified we will engrave with block lettering.
Orders received with engraving information such as Name, DOB and or DOD but without payment may be delayed up to 2 business days while our office attempts contact via e-mail. If we are unable to make contact we will ship your cremation urn without engraving.
I am so sorry for the delay in writing to you but time has just gone so fast these last few weeks! I just want to say a huge thank you for all your help in purchasing the clock urn and for helping me to make such a wonderful choice. it is beautiful! Words can't express how happy and pleased I am both to have such a lovely piece of 'furniture' and to have, at long last laid my husband to rest properly where he belongs. You were so kind and for that I can’t thank you enough. I know it is your job but not everyone takes responsibility for their work in such a caring way as you. Thank you Tara.
